a nationally-accredited Internet-based medical education company is owned and operated in Mendocino County. Wild Iris was formed by two local medical professionals, Ann Johnson, a registered nurse from Comptche and Lauren Robertson, a physical therapist from Willits. The idea for Wild Iris came to the two women in 1997 when they were laid off from their jobs at a local home health agency. Disappointed by the loss of good jobs, they took inventory of their skills, interests, and the needs of the marketplace and decided to start a business providing Internet-based continuing education to nurses and physical therapists.
